parsing console output sounds pretty straightforward and the path of the least resistance.
Otherwise I'd have thought that you should be able to get the object referenced by $Collection item in view note. But most probably it's simply a different representation of the same thing that is returned by NIFGetCollectionData. B-Trees (re. description of NIFGetCollectionData) sound to be something too internal to be accessible ("corrupt B-Tree" messages etc.) I usually use a b-tree model for sorting of things, but that helps little in this case:-)
