Main topic: File name extension to 'Lib '

File name extension to 'Lib ' (by Jochen Sack, 07/10/2005 02:04:16 PM)

Hi Normunds,

the more I work with your book, the more I'm finding it an extremely useful resource.

You mention that the file name extension in the 'Lib <libname>' part of function declarations may be omitted on some platforms, e.g. "nnotes" instead of "nnotes.dll" (Windows) and "libnotes" instead of "libnotes.srvpgm" (OS/400).

My question: Does this rule apply to platforms other than Windows and OS/400?

I'm particularly interested in Solaris Sparc, HP-UX and OS/390.

Thanks

- Jochen
