I'm not aware if you can do that simply from LS. Probably by exporting/importing DXL. Or by using rtLib of course :-)
If you want to do it from C API you should look at CDCOLOR records. There are flags COLOR_VALUE_FLAGS_RESERVEDx used for highlighting.
