no, I do not know how to do it. I do not think than collection object structure is documented. And even if it were the link between the collection and the real index size.

I think that before (about R4) the index data were stored in view note itself, as I remember that size of the index could be approximated by the size of the view note (i _think_ it was like that, I never used it for prodcution purposes;-) Now it's definitely not the case. I'm not sure what else you can use.

You could probably talk them into signing an agent that sends this particular request and then call this agent whenever you need to get this data.
