Main topic: File name extension to 'Lib '

More info: File name extension (by Normunds Kalnberzins, 07/12/2005 01:31:28 PM)

I see you have a serious interest in cross platform code, hence I think the book shozld be quite valueable to you.

But unfortunately I'm not really able to answer your questions. Now I cannot tell where exactly i got this particular idea about file extensions -- most probably empirically, so I cannot also promise that all platforms will act the same. Besides it's not really a problem, because the parameters are most probably different anyway, so you will gain little by being able to use the same lib name on several platforms. BTW if you really intend to port your code to all these platforms you will need a lot of testing anyway, so you should be able to come back and post the results.

If I recall correctly I've tried it on Linux (using without extension) and it did not work (Linux on Intel; am i correct, now we got also Domino for Linux on OS/390 -- never tried anything with it nor with the native OS version)
