item_value is a pointer to the buffer of your data and item_len is the length of data. There is nothing special about this function when you call it from LotusScript (see also the reference for declaration: http://www.ls2capi.com/normunds/ls2capihome.nsf/0/37496A95E34B423800256DF50001281F?openDocument; usually the tricky part is to correctly prepare your data.
